Artist statement
The miracle of Nature inspires me to paint for my own pleasure. I am particularly interested in flora--each flower a miracle and no matter how large or small, a joy to behold. Their structures, forms, textures and colors sing and dance gracefully before me. I use watercolor to capture their essence due to its transparency and luminosity coupled with the serendipitous effects which can only be achieved with that particular medium. I hope my art not only gives the viewer pause to admire Nature's creativity, but also draws the viewer into the paintings; perhaps to admire, perhaps to remember but mostly to enjoy.
