I am a floral artist. For 20 years I taught flower painting at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Painting for me is a form of comtemplation. It takes me to a peaceful, comfortable place where only line, color , texture and form exist. Interpretation of my subject onto paper allows me to create a new vision for others to see. Flowers, like people, are completely individual—each one having its own personal aura and style— and can be painted in a multitude of ways. The colors are pure, varied and vibrant. Just seeing them makes me feel happy and whole. But painting them is perfection.
