Artist statement

What I like most about watercolor is the immediency of the medium. Of being able to capture feelings and thoughts quickly. I like putting down a brush loaded with color onto a piece of wet paper and watch it take on a design of its own. I like to depict subjects that take me and the viewer away from the sadness and troubles in the world. Nostalgiic subjects, such as an antique quilt thrown over a wicker chair, flowers in a window box on an old victorian house, beautiful colors, interesting designs, that is what I search for and hope to present skillfully.
